Podcasters Are Today's News Reporters
Joe Rogan has over 2,500 episodes of hiss podcast, The Joe Rogan Experience, totaling 7,000 hours of content. Another well-known podcaster, Tim Pool, has well over a thousand episodes of his podcast, Timcast, which is more politically focused compared to The Joe Rogan Experience. Both of these podcasts bring in millions of listeners per episode and Joe Rogan in particular attracts all types of people on his show regularly including actors, politicians, scientists, musicians, or comedians. In the age of digital media being so influential and readily available to us, these podcasters are often sources us constant news. Whether driving to work in the morning, making dinner, or wanting something to listen to, podcasters can and will act as news reporters for their listeners. These podcasters are smart enough to even make clips of their hours long episodes to farm engagement on social media platforms to spread awareness of their podcasts. As major news networks like MSNBC and CNN fall in viewers, podcasters continue to rise in viewership and inadvertently take in some of these refugees as they look for other sources of information.

ReplyDeleteI agree that podcasters are on the rise in todays media. I have seen some clips from both podcasts and they are very influential and educational at the same time. I appreciate podcasts more due to their ability to go more in depth with their conversations with guests. In my opinion podcasts can soon take over the media
